Subtitle Edit is an all-in-one subtitle editing and creation tool which can help you create and modify subtitles so that they are synchronized with video files.

The interface of Subtitle Edit well-designed and also gives you the ability to customize it to your own liking. With it, you can convert, edit and sync subtitles easily. Customizing the subtitles involves little effort with the tools provided.

With Subtitle Edit, you can convert between many of the various popular formats including MicroDVD, SubRip and even YouTube subtitles. It also includes an automatic translation tool powered by Google Translate.

The wizard interfaces are also quite handy as the streamline and simplify many of the common features most users utilize.

Is Subtitle Edit free?

Subtitle Edit is a free application released under the GPLv3 license on Windows from audio and video editors. With software released under the open source GPLv3 license, anybody can download, install, run and distribute the software with little in terms of restrictions. The latest version we have is 3.6.10 and is available to download here.

What version of Windows can Subtitle Edit run on?

Subtitle Edit can be used on a computer running Windows 11 or Windows 10. Previous versions of the OS shouldn't be a problem with Windows 8 and Windows 7 having been tested. Windows XP is supported. It comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit downloads.
